Company History 

1996 - Christopher Bean Coffee Company is founded and named after owner Christopher W. Brown, Master Roaster of gourmet coffees for hotels, offices, and restaurants.

2000 - CBC began selling gourmet coffee in 50 Publix Super Markets as a test market.
 
2001 - CBC signs deal with Target-owned Marshall Fields for full distribution.

2002 - Publix authorized CBC in 850 stores in all divisions; enters into 4 test market super centers with Wal-Mart; and expands mail order capabilities to include the convenience of online shopping at www.christopherbean.com.

2004 – Kroger Co. grocery stores authorizes CBC as the only new coffee item with limited distribution in 3 divisions.
 
2004 - CBC became the official licensed coffee roaster for the Motorsports coffee cup series.

2005 - CBC rolls out in all 1,850 Kroger Co. grocery stores coordinated locations including 10 Chicago area Food 4 Less stores. Publix Super Markets promotes Christopher Bean Holiday Display items in all locations and adds 2 new items to the specialty coffee set.
 
2006 - CBC introduces 6 Certified Organic Coffees and begins selling several varieties of Fair Trade Coffees. Kroger Co. doubles CBC distribution, adding 6 new items for a total of 12 SKU’s. Wild Oats Natural Foods Markets begin distribution in Florida.

2007 - Safeway, Inc. selects 6 varieties for distribution in 4 Western divisions and in Florida Sweetbay Stores.

2008 - CBC begins distribution in the Northeast United States at New York/ New Jersey Kings Supermarkets and in the New England States at Hannaford Brothers. Upgrades retail line to All Natural coffees and focuses branding efforts on healthy active consumers and corporate culture to social consciousness and sustainability.
